How often do you blog? - Blog newcomers in particular are not sure and wonder what the optimal post frequency might look like. Often you get to read that ideally it should happen every day. But is that really smart? Let's take a look at it together.
First of all, there are also good arguments for blogging on a daily basis. You build up content quickly, which then gets stuck in the search results on Google. This can of course be very beneficial.
It's also logical: the more articles you have published, the greater the chances of getting a lot of traffic from Google. That can't be bad, can it? Well, that depends and cannot be answered across the board.

Your optimal post frequency could also mean blogging daily.
Posting daily is a hot topic. On the one hand, it may well work for you. On the other hand, there are unfortunately many bloggers who give everything to blog every day and still get no response to their work.
It can be very frustrating. However, nobody forces you to blog every day. It can be betterto blog only two or three times a week.
And yet, it can have been worthwhile for some people to publish new articles every day. Because some bloggers work better when they work on a daily routine.
If these bloggers were to only post three times a week, they would soon hit the wall and probably only write a few times a month. So you have to find out for yourself how often you should blog, because the optimal post frequency is a very personal matter.
Blogging daily - it depends on your niche, your topic
There are certainly topics or niches that only work every day. For example news magazines. I built one up together with a colleague, within just a few months we had over 90,000 hits a month on the website.
One or two articles were published every day. Our Facebook page grew faster than we could watch.
When we no longer had the time to supply our magazine on a daily basis, the number of visitors fell rapidly. For a while we tried two articles a week, but it just didn't work. News magazines have to be supplied daily, otherwise they will die.
As I wrote earlier, there are SEO benefits to publishing daily too. Lots of articles in Google search results bring in some traffic. However, a single article that goes through the roof brings significantly more traffic than ten regular posts.
This traffic then comes through Facebook and not through Google.
How often should you blog? Every day? Then do this
- Make your posts short and to the point. Delete unnecessary items.
- Always plan in advance, never publish inferior content
- Vary the type of your articles. Also try to write video posts or posts that are heavy on images
- Use strategies to be more effective.
Why two or three posts a week is better
Writing just two or three articles a week could improve the quality of your blog.
In the past few years there has been a fundamental change in the professional blogger world. More and more very successful professional bloggers are giving up the former view of having to post every day.
Even the top blogs (about blogging) no longer publish daily.
Today we know that you no longer have to blog every day to be and remain really successful. Five years ago, for example, there weren't that many »pro blogs«; users soaked up the content like a sponge.
Today, however, there is so much to choose from, a ton of blogs for the user to choose from. Readers suffer information burnout and surrender to the sheer mass of information. There is just too much choice.
For example, famous blogger Darren Rowse asked his users why so many of them unsubscribed from the news feed. The readers' response was very interesting because they unsubscribed because of the blog post frequency.

I love blogs that one to a maximum of three articles publish per week. And I've only subscribed to newsletters that provide me with information once a week at most.
The advantage for your users if you only blog twice a week
Only having to (be allowed to, be able to) blog twice a week has a number of advantages. If you use these advantages for yourself, you will quickly be able to build up a "tribe" - a kind of fan club.
Many readers prefer to only use blogs that only post two to three times a week. There are good reasons for that. If your post frequency drops, you can invest the free time in your articles. Because people love bloggers who have something to say.
It is better to publish little, go in depth with your articles, work out your contributions correctly and comprehensively. Have something to say, provide all-round useful information.

For example, your perfect blogging routine might be one article per week. Of course, it can also be one article per day. You could write when you feel inspired, or on a set schedule, an editorial schedule.
With good planning and an editorial plan, you can, for example, keep an eye on different thematic content on certain days of the week or a month in advance.
Unfortunately, there is no panacea, no universal recipe for how often you should blog and how to find your routine. The only thing that helps is testing, testing and testing.
Should you find after a few weeks that you feel burned out, change your routine immediately. She then starts slowly making you sick.
Don't worry about the readers. They can cope with it when you change your blog frequency. Nobody will complain about that.
