UPS requirements

What are the requirements for shipping alcoholic beverages with UPS?

Contract performance only

All shippers who wish to ship alcoholic beverages must sign UPS's ISC Addendum to Ship Alcoholic Beverage. UPS DOES NOT ACCEPT WINE SHIPMENTS FROM SHIPPERS WHO HAVE NOT CONCLUDED THESE AGREEMENTS.

Shipping solution requirements

All wine shipments must be processed using a UPS-compliant shipping solution such as UPS WorldShip® or an approved third-party system.

Package preparation

Packaging regulations

All USP shipments must comply with UPS packaging guidelines for wine. UPS accepts molded expanded polystyrene (EPS) inner packaging, folded trays, or molded fiber trays. Each packaging component secures the bottles in the center of the container and provides a clearance to the side walls of the shipping box. Robust corrugated packaging is required on the outside. For more information, contact your UPS seller for UPS certified wine packaging.

Proof of delivery - signature of an adult required

All wine shipments must be posted using the UPS Proof of Delivery Service - Adult Signature Required.
