Can an almighty omnipresent God self-destruct

What does it mean that God is almighty?

As with God's attributes omniscient and omnipresent, it also follows with omnipotent that God when he is infinite and sovereign; that we know to be true, then it must also be omnipotent. He has all power over all things, at all times and in all ways.

Job spoke of God's power in Job 42: 2: "I see that you can do everything, and nothing that you set out to do is too difficult for you." Job recognized the omnipotence of God in the implementation of his plans. Moses was also reminded that God has all the power to implement his goal with regard to the Israelites: “But the Lord said to Moses: Is the hand of the Lord too short? But now you are to see whether my word is fulfilled in you or not ”(Numbers 11:23).

Nowhere is God's omnipotence more apparent than in creation. God said, "Let there be ..." and it became so (Genesis 1: 3, 6, 9, etc.). Man needs tools and materials to create; God spoke simply and by the power of his word everything was created out of nothing. "Heaven was made by the word of the Lord, and all its host by the breath of his mouth" (Psalm 33: 6).

God's power can also be seen in the maintenance of his creation. All life on earth would perish if God did not constantly take care of everything - food, clothing, shelter, everything from renewable resources, which are obtained through his power to help people and animals (Psalm 36: 6). The oceans, which cover most of the earth and over which we are powerless, would overwhelm us if God did not limit them (Job 38: 8-11).

God's omnipotence extends to governments and leadership positions (Daniel 2:21), He limits them or lets them go their way, but always according to his plan and goal. His power is also unlimited with regard to Satan and his demons. Satan's attacks on Job were limited to certain things. He was restricted by the unrestricted power of God (Job 1:12; 2: 6). Jesus reminded Pilate that he would have no power over him unless it was granted to him by God (John 19:11).

As God Almighty, God can do anything. However, if the Bible says that there are certain things that God cannot do, it does not mean that God has lost his omnipotence. For example, Hebrews 6:18 says God cannot lie. This does not mean that he lacks the power to lie, but that God chooses not to lie according to his own moral perfection. Likewise, God allows evil to happen according to His perfect plan, even though He is omnipotent and hates evil. He uses certain evil and horrific events so that his purpose and purpose can unfold behind them, such as when the most evil event ever happened - the murder of the perfect, holy and innocent Lamb of God, and mankind could be redeemed from their sins.

As God incarnate, Jesus Christ is almighty. His power can be seen in the miracles he performed - his many healings, feeding the five thousand (Mark 6: 30-44), calming the storm (Mark 4: 37-41), and the best way to power On display: raising Lazarus and Jairus' daughter from the dead (John 11: 38-44; Mark 5: 35-43), an example of his control over life and death. Death is why Jesus came - to destroy him (1 Corinthians 15:22; Hebrews 2:14) and to bring sinners into proper relationship with God. The Lord Jesus emphasized that he has the power to lay down his life and to resume it, a fact that he typified when he spoke about the temple (John 2:19). He has the power to call 12 hosts of angels to his rescue during his accusation if necessary (Matthew 26:53), yet he humbly sacrificed himself in place of others (Philippians 2: 11-11).

The great mystery is that this power is shared by believers united with God in Jesus Christ. Paul says: "That is why I will most dearly boast of my weakness, that the power of Christ may dwell with me." can do exuberantly beyond everything we ask or understand, according to the power that works within us. " (Ephesians 3:20). It is God's power that continually keeps us in a stadium of grace before God despite our sins. (2 Timothy 1:12) and by his power we will not stumble (Jude 24). His power will be proclaimed forever by a great multitude in heaven (Revelation 19: 1). May this be our endless prayer!
