Snapchat has a developer API

Snapchat opens marketing interface for all developers

In the future, agencies, advertisers or other companies - regardless of size, area or software used - will have access to the Snapchat API. So far, this has only been possible for members of the so-called Snapchat Parter Program - companies such as Adobe, Appsflyer, Rocket Fuel or Vaynermedia. Access to the platform is to be democratized, as the operator Snap announces today.

With this step, Snapchat hopes to attract more advertisers to the platform. "We've been working very closely with third-party developers," said James Borow, Snap's director of revenue programs. They would have liked this step. With the opening of the marketing interface, according to Borow, every developer should now be able to access the marketing API and develop advertising tools.

The advertising business is still gaining momentum with the former hype app. Snapchat is still deep in the red, but at least surprised investors with the latest quarterly report: In the past quarter, sales rose 72 percent year-on-year to $ 285.7 million (229.7 million euros). Analysts had expected a little over 250 million. The number of users rose within three months by five percent to 187 million. ron
