What is your trick to smoke meat
This is how smoking changes your mouth
In general, every third cancer is considered to be homemade, i.e. caused by an unhealthy lifestyle. But those who smoke let their personal cancer risk skyrocket - smoking is the number one risk factor that promotes cancer. It usually hits the lungs, but the risk of tumors around the mouth also increases. Scientists from the German Cancer Research Center and the University of Heidelberg have extrapolated that in 2018 a total of 2,900 smokers and 785 smokers will suffer from cancer of the lip, throat or oral cavity.
No wonder, the smoke is tough: 90 percent of the tumors on organs that come into contact with smoke can be directly attributed to tobacco consumption, according to the DKFZ. In and around the mouth, the oral cavity, larynx, throat, or esophagus can be affected. The risk of cancer increases with the amount of tobacco that is consumed. Alcohol increases the risk even more.
On the other hand, those who quit smoking significantly lower the risk of developing the effects of smoking: the risk of cancer of the oral cavity drops significantly after three to five years. And after 20 years it is just as low as that of a non-smoker.
