In conventional medicine, the dangers posed by the use of mercury in medicine - especially in dentistry - are played down or simply ignored. In specialist publications, existing research results and generally recognized scientific standards are concealed or denied, in publications for patients and for the general public, half-truths / false-truths are disseminated, e.g.; chronic mercury poisoning does not exist at all (see page 40, section 4.8). Unfortunately, some environmental medicine offers in Germany only serve to mislead; see report.

There are also examples of disinfection under the links mentioned here. On the Internet, however, you will find a wealth of valuable information about health dangers, their causes and attempts by patients, doctors and scientists to help the truth break through.

4 medical associations and health insurance companies

4.1 Conventional medicine in Germany

Conventional medicine describes itself as that. However, one has a very special understanding of science here: natural science is largely ignored.

  • Medical associations and associations of statutory health insurance physicians
including dental associations and statutory dental associations
    • Federation
      • German Medical Association (BÄK)
        with portal patienten-information.de
      • German Dental Association (BZÄK)

        • Contributions in the "Dental Notices" (zm)

          • Amalgam alarm (zm 6/2006)
          • The new regulations on amalgam (June 29, 2018)

As of July 1, 2018, amalgam may only be used in exceptional cases across the EU in children under 15 years of age, pregnant and breastfeeding women. As an alternative, the dentist can invoice composite fillings in the posterior region.

          • Amalgam: alternatives for children and pregnant women (29.6.2018)

(on children under 15 years of age, pregnant and breastfeeding women).

          • Dear amalgam opponents: Read the zm! (29.6.2018)

A demonstration takes place in front of the office of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists in Berlin's Behrenstrasse 42:

The KZBV thinks that the demands of the amalgam opponents have now been met. Unfortunately they are not. For most patients there is still only the amalgam filling as a permanent filling without additional payment.
        • Symposium of the Research Institute for Dental Care in cooperation with the Dental Medicines Committee BDZ / KZBV (May 25, 1981):
Regarding the question of the side effects of supplying carious teeth with amalgam
Dr. R. Kees: Weighting of the mentioned problems from a scientific and political point of view
The author quotes Prof. Kröncke: "To claim that the amalgam fillings have harmful effects on health because of their mercury content lacks any scientifically verifiable basis."
        • Patient magazine:
        • The following also applies to conventional medicine in 2017:
          Amalgam is harmless to health
    • Federal states
  • Statutory health insurance (GKV)
  • German Society for Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine (DGZMK)
The DGZMK is one of the most important and toughest advocates of the use of mercury and amalgam in Germany. In all documents the ignorance of the DGZMK towards toxicological questions becomes clear.
    • Information for doctors and patients
    • toxcenter.org: Personalities in the DGZMK
    • Press release on the amalgam discussion (11.1996)
DGZMK demands: Amalgam must also be preserved for women of childbearing age!
    • Minutes of the general meeting (excerpt) on October 4, 1996
    • Consensus paper: Restorative materials in dentistry, also here:
Consensus paper between the Ministry of Health, BfArM, BZÄK, KZBV, DGZMK (1.7.1997)
    • DGZMK press conference: Metals - from amalgam to titanium (5.2017)
Also on May 17th, 2017 - the day on which the EU announced the future amalgam ban for children up to 15, pregnant and breastfeeding women - the DGZMK stuck to its ideology: the possible poisoning by mercury vapor from amalgam fillings is merely psychosomatic causes are however. Very important: always sprinkle the word in!
    • Gottfried Schmalz, Roland Frankenberger, Norbert Krämer, Falk Schwendicke, Georg Meyer, Matthias Hannig:
The Minamata Convention and Amalgam (7/2018)

Explanation of the regulations according to the EU regulation. The dentists are relieved that amalgam has only been banned for environmental reasons and that they may continue to use amalgam in exceptional cases, even if it is generally prohibited for children up to 15 years of age, pregnant and breastfeeding women. The ban is.

    • Prof. Dr. Gottfried Schmalz, former DGZMK board member
    • Prof. Dr. Dr. Franz-Xaver Reichl, toxicologist
Reichl has published on amalgam and dental plastics. The toxicity of the mercury vapor escaping from amalgam fillings is massively underestimated by him - compared to the toxicity of the substances that escape from plastics.
    • Prof. Dr. Georg Meyer, former DGZMK President and scientific advisor for the World Dental Association FDI:
      • Letter to dr. Thomas Ulmer, MEP, on amalgam and composite fillings (02/10/2006)
Reaction from Prof. Daschner (June 27, 2006)
      • Press release from the University of Greifswald
Greifswalder is now "world dentist" - Professor Georg Meyer impressed in Singapore with a plea for amalgam (11/10/2009)

        "clear and convincing for amalgam"
"A large number of scientific studies and long-term investigations have so far produced no evidence that these fillings are harmful to health, despite their mercury content", stressed Meyer. Nevertheless, especially in Germany, "militant amalgam opponents" would stir up a mood and diffuse fears against amalgam seals.

      • Mail to a patient (11.2009)
with 'scientific' (?) findings on psychiatry and chemistry and the information that the heavy metals in amalgam are as tightly bound as sodium and chlorine in table salt, statement:
Dr. Lechner: Is amalgam really "a safe and stable alloy"?
      • Joint declaration of the environmental medicine associations on Meyer's view that amalgam is harmless (coll. 1/2010)
Dentists like Professors Schmalz or Meyer had or still have leading positions in the DGZMK. Another reason why you can speak so carelessly about amalgam is that dentists are rarely trained in toxicology, neurology, immunology or general medicine. Often the level of a high school graduate is not even achieved in natural sciences (biology, chemistry, physics); see also here.

  • Australia:
  • Great Britain
  • UNITED STATES:
    • American Dental Association (ADA)

The ADA Dental Association was founded in 1859 with the declared aim of using amalgam on patients. The opponents (), who recognized the dangers of mercury, were put down and later disbanded. The resistance to amalgam was defamed as quackery.

    • California Dental Association (CDA): Oral Health Fact Sheets
The "fact sheet" on amalgam takes a position on the warnings that the mercury in amalgam could cause Alzheimer's, autism, multiple sclerosis and other diseases. All major health authorities agree: amalgam is not the cause, amalgam is harmless.

    • American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)

4.4 alternative medicine in other countries

4.5 International associations: conventional medicine

[Mercury in amalgam is mainly bound to metals (silver, zinc, copper, tin) and does not pose a health risk, such as methylmercury]
An outright lie: the mercury vapor released from amalgam fillings is ignored here. Mercury vapor is at least as toxic as methyl mercury.
