Keep in touch with your company! Stay in contact with colleagues and find out about developments and processes in your company in person or via newsletter and intranet. Attend training courses that are offered in your company. Go to the company party. Offer yourself as part of your time as a temporary worker or substitute. Use the time for a professional reorientation! If your career choice or employment was only a second choice before the family phase, you moved during parental leave and you do not want or cannot return to your old job, you will develop new professional prospects for yourself. Invest in your professional future. We are happy to support you! The shorter the break, the easier it is to get back into the job! Clarify when it would be a good time for everyone involved (family and employer) to return to work. The longer the break, the more difficult it is to return to work. Further training makes returning to work easier! Use the professional break to further your education. Better qualifications facilitate your chances in the job market and strengthen your self-esteem. Score confidently with skills from family work! You have acquired important qualifications during parental and family leave. Mothers are world champions in independent action, planning, organizing and coordinating. By raising your children, you have acquired social and educational skills. You should confidently emphasize these skills in your application. Check different working time models! Include your family in your career and family planning. Many fathers and mothers would like more time for their children. That is why they are equally entitled to reduce working hours in order to achieve the compatibility of family and work in the same way. Page 41
