The alien superhero, also known by the name J'onn J'onzz, tells Bruce that the Justice League must find the anti-life equation before Darkseid and that he is ready to help afterwards. For those who don't know the character in the comics, Martian Manhunter is a Mars police officer who was stranded on Earth. He becomes a cop and superhero when he realizes he cannot return home and helps start the Justice League in his new home.
Martian Manhunter made his debut in Detective Comics # 225 in November 1955. Martian Manhunter was created by writer Joseph Samachson and illustrator Joe Certa, and is an extraterrestrial green-skinned humanoid who accidentally comes to Earth when an experience science goes wrong.
Jonzz is drawn into our world by an experimental teleportation beam and is permanently stranded on Earth when the project's lead scientist dies in shock upon the arrival of the superhero. Until Mars technology can bring him home, Martian Manhunter adopts the human nickname John Jones, becomes a police officer, and uses his superpowers to help humanity.
When it comes to skills, Martian Manhunter has quite a few. They are all pretty similar to Superman’s. So if you know the powers of Man of Steel, then you won't be unfamiliar with the super powers of J'onn J'onzz. These include flight, superhuman strength, regeneration, durability, and thermal imaging. Unlike Superman, Martian Manhunter can go invisible and use telekinesis and telepathy, but he does not possess superhuman breath like his alien counterpart.
Martian Manhunter is also capable of creating change, a skill we saw in Zack Snyder's Justice League. After visiting Lois Lane, Superman's adoptive mother Martha leaves the old man's apartment - but she's not the Martha we know from Man of Steel and Batman versus Superman.
When Martha's eyes begin to redden, a cloak wraps around her and her clothes change. It turns out that Martian Manhunter posed as Clark Kent's mother to convince Lois to continue her life after Superman's death. J'onn J'onzz then transforms into General Swanwick before leaving the building.
Then what about his involvement in Justice League comic history? Martian Manhunter was involved in the founding of the Justice League of America alongside Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and Green Lantern. His apprenticeship took place in The Brave and the Bold # 28 in March 1960, and he has appeared in Standalone Comics and the Justice League in the 66 years since its inception.
Martian Manhunter was appointed as President of the Justice League during the 2016 DC Comics comic lines relaunch. He was also a member of the Justice League's newest incarnation, which arrived in the part of DC's Infinite Frontier relaunch in March 2021.
